| My support when I was astray... |
|
My parents have been a strong support that have heald me together for many years. They saw me through so much adversity and never wavered when many others had given up on me. It wasn't a lack of interest or supervision that lead to my circumstances. When the things that happened to me did I became a master at hiding and masking it. The important thing is that my parents were there to restore me and keep me going when things were tough. My father is a strong and determined individual who is steady minded. These are traits I hope to inherit. He served our country in the Army in the National Guard for many years. He raised tobbacco when I was young and has been in construction for over thirty years. He is a construction superintendant at Vannoy and Sons Construction. He did all of these many jobs for years for the sake of the family. I'm thankful for my father following what God placed in his heart to be a father as he didn't know his natural father growing up. He taught me to work with my hands and to be self reliant. My mother is a soft spoken supporter who always offers encouragement. She has played music all of her life and has had many accomplishments doing so. She has been in the nursing field for over thirty years and has retired for a while to be a full-time grandmother. This is such a blessing as in this day in time afforadable childcare, that is most importantly, safe and a christian atmosphere is hard and almost impossible to find. I feel so blessed to have been given the parents I have. They have been such a support to me over the years and such encouragement overcoming their own childhood struggles. I feel I'm a funny mix of my parents in that I have the music and the ability to dream from my mother and the stubborn strong work ethic from my father. Thanks so much Mom and Dad for everything.
